Cement integrity in the Middle East
A Middle Eastern operator had been experiencing raised annulus pressures within six months of well start-ups. Intetech prepared detailed cementing operation procedures. These included providing cement quality controls and checks, optimum cementing operational procedures and a detailed explanation of the procedure for cement-bond integrity testing. We also suggested how the structure of the cementing subcontractors’ contract could be improved. Together, these improvements greatly enhanced annulus cement integrity.
