Operators have asked Intetech to identify the causes of tubing corrosion and to develop models of the parameters affecting corrosion rates. These models have enabled the operators to take preventive steps, such as changing production flow rates or introducing or changing corrosion inhibitor injection, that slow down the corrosion rate. The models can also help to prioritise workover activities for the most severely affected wells, which improves the cost-effectiveness of operations.
